They had one of those checking places set up on the road down from my house, so I asked my mom if we could go and let me drive just so I could have the experience - she let me go through it on the way out of the neighborhood and on the way back, too. It was fun!

Cool! I am glad you are working hard at practicing. It is only by practicing frequently that you will become a good driver. How did your mom say you did? Is she a willing teacher? There are some parents that don't like to teach their kids, and prefer to pay for a driving school.

I think some of the state police dept's still allow this on the weekend if I am not mistaken. I remember in the other state I lived in up north allowed it, but it might vary from state to state too.

Thanks! My mom said I'm doing really good. I just have trouble on turns, sometimes, figuring out how much to slow down before I turn. Yeah, she wanted to teach me.
