Rotating tires

How often are tires supposed to be rotated? I'm not sure, but I think I have never rotated mine. What does rotating do for them, anyway?

You should have your tires rotated every 3 months. This ensures even wearing and a longer life. Usually at the same time they rotate them they check the air pressure and look for defects or damage to the tire.

Thanks, Fender. I will have to put it in my calendar to do that. Can I just take it anywhere to have that done, or is there someplace special I need to go?

Wow, who knew? My dad only rotates his once every couple years - if even then. Of course, he gets used tires and ends up replacing them sooner than that, so half the time it's new-to-him tires anyway.

I get my tires rotated about every three months. I think almost any place that will fix a car, can also rotate the tires. One time, when I was shopping, I had the auto shop in Walmart rotate my tires. Just call around and see what shops near you do tire rotation.
